KAT Reaches out to Neighborhoods This Summer

Posted on June 25, 2018 at 10:25 AM by Belinda Woodiel-Brill

Thanks to Mayor Rogero and Knoxville City Council, KAT has funding to continue with year 4 of our 5-year plan, which calls for the gradual and strategic improvement of current transit services. Over the summer, KAT will be reaching out to neighborhoods along affected routes in hopes of meeting with residents and getting input on route and service requests before the final proposal is made in September. The plan calls for the following changes:
Route 17 – Sutherland – providing later evening service as well as service on Sunday
Route 24- Inskip/Breda – service later into the evening on weekdays and Saturdays
Route 30 – Parkridge – service later into the evening on weekdays and Saturdays
Route 40 – South Knoxville – doubling headways to every 30 minutes. Currently, service operates once an hour.
Route 42 - UT/Ft. Sanders Hospitals - service later into the evening on weekdays and Saturdays
Route 45 – South Knoxville – doubling headways to every 30 minutes. Currently, service operates once an hour.

If you are along one of the routes listed above, we would love to hear from you about any requests or ideas you might have for the service. Email us at our “Contact Us” link. If you would like for us to speak to your neighborhood organization, church, or other group, let us know.
